Grove House Practice is a popular, well-established GP Surgery based in Runcorn with around 11000 patients. It is part of the Halton Clinical Commissioning Group and was the first GP practice in the UK to fully digitise patient records and adopt the Electronic Lloyd George Records Service (e-LGS).
Grove House already had an active website but it had become outdated and difficult to maintain. They subsequently invited three local companies to submit proposals to carry out a complete redesign of the website and we were obviously delighted when they informed us they had selected Comtec IT Support as their preferred web developers.
The initial brief was quite broad with exact requirements to be defined as the project progressed, something we were more than happy to accommodate. One of the most fundamental aspects of the redesign was that it had to be easier to use and navigate than the old site. It also had to be modern and mobile-friendly. We were also asked to develop secure areas for practice staff and patient group members.
Over a period of around 5 months, we worked closely with Grove House staff to develop the concept and requirements in more detail. Members of the Practice’s patient group (PPG) were involved in testing of the site whilst it was under development.
The project progressed smoothly culminating in a site with over 60 pages.
